Houston Dermatologist, Rachel Gordon, MD, FAAD

Dr. Rachel Gordon MD is a board-certified Dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is committed to delivering the highest quality of care with a personal touch to address the needs and concerns of her patients in a caring, approachable manner. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and loves when she is able to care for multiple generations in one family! She believes healthy skin is beautiful skin and is passionate about helping patients look and feel their best while empowering them to manage and understand their conditions and take great care of their skin in order to prevent sun damage that can lead to skin cancer and premature aging.

Dr. Gordon graduated magna cum laude from The Ohio State University with a BA in Spanish, completing some curriculum in Toledo, Spain, and later volunteering in rural Peru. She is fluent in Spanish. She received her medical degree from West Virginia University and did her internal medicine internship at The University of Pittsburgh. She then moved to Houston to be a researcher and investigator in clinical trials before completing her dermatology residency at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center and the University of Texas Health Sciences Center where she served as chief resident.

Dr. Gordon practices medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology. She has a special interest in acne, rosacea and eczema, psoriasis as well as skin cancer prevention, detection and treatment and natural-looking cosmetic rejuvenation with Botox and dermal fillers. Her philosophy is to ‘keep it simple’ – treating issues in the most direct, straight-forward way that works with patients’ lifestyles so they can achieve desired results.

A self-proclaimed farm girl, Dr. Gordon grew up on a horse farm in a rural area outside of Pittsburgh PA.  She fell in love with the Houston and surrounding area during her years of clinical research and training. She is delighted to be back after having spent 5 years in Dallas, where she was voted by her colleagues to be one of the best dermatologists in the city.

In her free time, Dr. Gordon is usually making a mess in the garden, barn, or kitchen, riding her horse, or planning her next travel adventure.
