Excel® V
When it comes to skin issues, many of us struggle with a variety of spots, scars, and other discoloration. Thanks to the Cutera Excel V laser, you can now fix all these problems with a single treatment—saving yourself time and money in the process. The Excel V laser system can treat more than 20 different types of skin pigmentation conditions. Our Houston dermatology team is proud to offer this twin laser procedure to men and women from Kingwood, Willowbrook, Pearland, The Woodlands, El Campo, and beyond who want to enjoy clear, blemish-free skin.
What is Excel V?
The Excel V is an innovative tunable laser system combining 2 ultra-precise lasers in one device. It treats skin concerns with the power of 2 specialized wavelengths: 532nm and 1064nm. The 532 laser works best at addressing superficial problems such as rosacea and spider veins. The 1064 wavelength treats deeper skin issues such as dark vascular lesions, vascular malformations, and more.
What issues does Excel V address?
Excel V is a versatile laser treatment that can improve the following skin concerns:
- Spider Veins
- Rosacea
- Port Wine Stains
- Cherry Angiomas
- Leg Veins
- Age and sunspots
- Freckles
- Broken capillaries
What happens during an Excel V treatment?
The Excel V laser delivers pulses of light energy to the target veins, inducing coagulation and controlled destruction of the vessel. The vein is then naturally reabsorbed by your body. The laser can be dialed down to precisely focus on small areas or brown spots. To increase safety, the Excel V also has continuous, adjustable cooling that makes the process as comfortable as possible.
How long is recovery after an Excel V session?
After your procedure, you may experience slight swelling for around 1 to 3 days. Your skin also may feel “bumpy” around the target area. Swelling and discomfort are easily treated with a topical steroid or over-the-counter pain medication.
Like most laser treatments, Excel V may require multiple sessions for the best possible results. Smaller brown spots and veins can be eliminated in 1 to 2 visits. Deeper lesions may require multiple sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
How long will my Excel V results last?
Your results will gradually develop over the few weeks after your procedure while your body eliminates unwanted veins and pigmentation. However, many patients see significant improvement a few days after their first treatment. Touch-up treatments every 1 to 3 years may be required to maintain your clear skin. Follow-up appointments usually require less extensive treatment.
Delivering precision results with unmatched versatility, Excel V has the flexibility to treat anything from superficial veins to deep vascular conditions and pigmented lesions.
